Following an extensive medical journey leading to a rare degenerative joint diagnosis in her early 20s, Carney finally started to receive closure and ease after stumbling upon yoga.
Developing a daily practice in her bedroom, while seeking reprieve through meditation, acupuncture, massage and nutrition, Carney began to rebuild her life, restore her health, and experience yoga’s magic on the body and mind.
She sought out to know more, and wondered how she could teach others that they too can reflect their own strength and healing back to themselves. Carney was drawn to undertake a 200 Hour Multi-style Yoga Teacher Training with AAYAA (All About Yoga and Ayurveda) in Bali, followed by a 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Shantarasa Yoga Darshana here in Adelaide. She is currently undertaking a course in Ayurveda (Traditional Indian Medicine) and will soon commence another 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training to deepen her studies even further.
With an emphasis on the mind, body and breath relationship, Carney now teaches Traditional Hatha yoga to one-on-one and small intimate group classes at Healing Arts Studio. You can expect to experience gentle Asana (postures), Pranayama practices (breathwork) and Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep).
